Hand Selection Process

As a specialized Buffet clarinet dealer, Clarinet Monster is currently focused on used Buffet clarinet sales but we do consider other brands on a case by case basis. We hand select clarinets from reputable sources and offer a consignment program to interested sellers. What this means to you, the customer, is that each clarinet we sell has been personally inspected, selected, overhauled and set up by our CEO and Owner, Jeffrey Brooks. This process allows us to pick the best clarinets and pass along that advantage to you.  In selecting clarinets we look for the following characterstics: 
  • Best possible intonation
  • Eveness of scale
  • Rich core of sound
  • Eveness of resistance throughout registers
  • ​Resonant tone
